The blog 3-18-2023

By CRAIG HALL

Good morning and welcome to today’s blog, a new exclusive feature available only on our daily newsletter.

Thank you for checking it out and please share this with anybody you think might be interested and I will like you even more.

We picked up a couple of subscriptions in the last day and we thank you. Remember, our subscription includes the daily newsletter and the e-edition. If you aren’t receiving the e-edition and would like to get it, contact me.

We are supposed to have something called a killing frost overnight. Not really sure what that is and I don’t want all the buds on the trees to die, but if it could kill the weeds, I would be happy. I am getting my mower serviced and I have not mowed yet and the old yard needs some attention.

The other day I went to Poteau’s baseball game at home against Lavaca. I did not stream it, just took pictures and I really enjoyed it. I could concentrate on taking the pictures, just like the old times and did not have to lug a lot of equipment around or worry about the internet.

I got a pretty good picture of Poteau catch Aiden Sockey tagging out a Lavaca runner at home which you can see above.

But I also realize a lot more eyeballs will see a stream of a ball game over a picture. The best of both worlds would be if I had an assistant or volunteer who could help me set up for a stream and run it for the first little bit while I got a picture. So, if anybody is interested, hit me up. I heard the high school had an internship program and was hoping that would come through with help, but nothing has come of it yet.

This last week has been my first spring break in some 40 years. I gave it a thumbs up. I didn’t just lay around the house twiddling my thumbs, although, as I mentioned earlier, my yard looks like it. I did my morning work, covered a few ball games and caught up on sleep. I took a little siesta yesterday morning and after waking up, I actually was not tired. It was an amazing feeling and one I have not had in way too long.

Just to let you know, I am always looking for ways to make our newsletter, website or e-edition better. I have not discovered the secret sauce yet, but if you have any ideas or suggestions on things you would like to see, please let me know. If you don’t like something, let me know about that also and I will try harder next time.

This will hopefully be a laid-back day as Trish the Wife will get to stay home and rest. Plus, I have no plans and don’t plan to venture out anymore than necessary since it is going to be rather cool. Hopefully you guys have a great Saturday and the rest of your weekend.

Be kind.
